Explorations

Here I would like to share with you some of the courses/workshops that I have been on to further my creative practice and explore other artforms that I feel I may be able to use with my paper cutting.

Monoprinting

I remember learning about monoprinting at both school and college but it wasn't until I attended a workshop led by Jamie Barnes that I really found a love for the medium and how beautiful the marks that can be created are. Since the workshop I have created a few pieces with both papercutting and monoprint, one of which was displayed in the exhibition Edgelands at Kendal Museum in the Summer of 2019.

Exploring Cyanotype

I have attended two Cyanotype workshops run by the very talented Kim Tillyer of Witchmountain and love to create prints from my papercuts and use papercut shapes to mask out areas which I can later work into with other mediums.

Cut Fold Construct

Attending this workshop led by artist Andy Singleton allowed me to explore working with paper in 3D in a way that I hadn't done before. Creating 3D pieces that held together without the use of glue, giving the flexibility to alter and change and grow it.
