What do you think of when you hear 'exhibition preview'?
I think of all the artist/s and their friends and family coming together to celebrate the culmination of lots of hard work, usually with a glass of vino.
Today I went to the preview of the Through the Locking Glass exhibition at Rheged, which I am honoured to have work in.
As well as the thought provoking work that's on display the thing that struck me was that I saw nobody I knew.
I know a number of the exhibiting artists and at a 'normal' preview we would be there at the same time chatting about the exhibition amongst other things. The fact that this didn't happen made it all the more poignant and very fitting for the subject of the exhibition.
There is lots of artwork to see and I will be visiting it again with my partner.
